There are traditional quilters, art quilters, modern quilters, and then there’s me. I want to try it all! My style is to make whatever makes me happy and I use the techniques needed to achieve the desired outcome. I do prefer bright colors and prints but I will use any fabric that will work on my current project.
Working with companies in the quilting industry allows me to see the latest innovations and designs. The insights to everything new feeds my need to keep learning and add to my ever growing list of quilts to make.
My Background
Trained in Architectural Engineering, Cheryl started quilting as a hobby in 1982. She turned to quilting as a profession in 1990. Since then, she has designed and made quilts for fabric companies and quilting magazines. She is also consulting with Sissix for fabric cutting dies for quilters. She enjoys designing quilts and drafting the patterns, which is made easier because of her educational background. For the past 20 years, she has taught classes in local shops and for guilds.

Cheryl has exhibited her quilts in numerous shows including, local quilt guilds, Illinois State Fair, the National Quilting Association, Rockome Gardens, American Quitter’s Society in Paducah KY, and American Quitter’s Society in Nashville, TN. In 2003, her book “Off Center Patchwork” was released by American Quitter’s Society.
She lives in Bloomington, IL with her husband. She is an active member of the local Hands All Around Quilt Guild, AQS and the Modern Quilt Guild.
